A few months ago, Dread Central exclusively reported that Reggie Lee had joined the cast of Spyder Dobrofsky’s new film The Weeping. Now, we’re excited to share that horror icon Doug Jones has also joined the film’s cast. He’s playing the corrupt Sheriff Earl, who’s been allowing poachers to enter the forest.
In the film, “A group of friends go camping in a protected Native American forest and unwittingly wake up an ancient witch that haunts all who trespass.”
While primarily a horror film, The Weeping will also center on themes of conservation and honoring Indigenous land.
Dobrofsky most recently directed Down Below, where he previously worked with Jones, as well as with Eric Roberts and Bai Ling. He also penned the script for The Real Housewives of the North Pole.
Jones joins a cast featuring Reggie Lee, Chase DeMoor, Isabelle Hahn, Jordan Kennedy, and Craig Ng. Giovanna Andolina serves as a producer for The Weeping under the Worlds Apart Banner.
Filming for The Weeping is set to wrap this May. Keep an eye on Dread Central for more updates!
