Few things are certain on the Netflix charts. However, this movie being the reigning number-one horror film is starting to seem like a given at this point. For the third week in a row, The Pale Blue Eye is the horror Cinderella story on the Global Top 10. Because it’s still got such a firm hold on the number two spot in Films (English), it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon.

In the film, a world-weary detective is hired to discreetly investigate the gruesome murder of a cadet. Stymied by the cadets’ code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case — a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.
The Pale Blue Eye is based on the novel by Louis Bayard. The film is written and directed by Scott Cooper. The film also boasts a phenomenal cast that includes Christian Bale, Harry Melling, and Gillian Anderson.
Viewers are still smitten with the performances and cinematography. Many Twitter users are also raving about Harry Melling (most well-known for playing Dudley Dursley).

Oh my goodness, Harry Melling’s Edgar Allan Poe in The Pale Blue Eye is nothing less than extraordinary. I just want to hug him, and I say I. GET. YOU.
I need a whole dang series. He’s so damn good. pic.twitter.com/a51eI4yHyv

On Edgar Allan Poe’s birthday, may I suggest giving THE PALE BLUE EYE a try? Harry Melling as Poe was perfection. He nailed Poe’s dark romanticism and bursted with charisma.

It just now hit me that in The Pale Blue Eye, Poe is played by Dudley Dursley from Harry Potter

The Pale Blue Eye is worth your time. It’s slow at times, the end twist isn’t a huge surprise, but the atmosphere, cinematography & performances are top-notch. Christian Bale is always a compelling watch, and Harry Melling gives an exquisite, Oscar-worthy turn as Edgar Allen Poe. pic.twitter.com/KPnoMkWHgn

Just finished the movie The Pale Blue Eye and honestly it made me cry at the end. Christian Bale is a phenomenal actor, as is Harry Melling. (Dudley from the Harry Potter films). Both of them moved me to tears. pic.twitter.com/Yl0rz2Z2GL
