Cinedigm and Bloody Disgusting have announced plans to debut the horror documentary Living With Chucky via their streaming service, ScreamBox. In honor of that, we have a brand new trailer to share with you. Scope out the trailer below!
The doc will make its debut in the US and Canada April 4th. In addition to streaming as a Screambox original, the film will also be available to non-subscribers as a digital rental via the typical platforms.
Living With Chucky is helmed by Kyra Elise Gardner. Gardener grew up with the Child’s Play franchise. Her father (Tony Gardner) is a celebrated effects artist. And because of that, she has a special relationship with the series. The doc will look at the series from Kyra’s perspective and will touch on the cultural impact it has had over the years.
Living With Chucky features commentary from series stalwarts like Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, Don Mancini, Christine Elise McCarthy, Fiona Dourif, and so many more.
The first series installment, Child’s Play (which was helmed by master of horror Tom Holland) debuted in 1988 and made more than $44 million dollars at the global box office. The picture has since produced a total of six sequels (and counting), a reboot, and a television series, which was recently renewed for a third season.
Child’s Play follows Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) a young boy that desperately wants a Good Guy doll. His cash-strapped mother Karen (Catherine Hicks) buys Andy a Good Guy doll from a man hocking one on the street corner. Little does she know the doll is possessed by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif).
