The inextricable link between horror and true crime is a fascinating one. Films like Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer and more tenuously The Texas Chain Saw Massacre take inspiration from the real-life horrors human beings are capable of. Writer and co-director Adam Ray Fair with co-director Lyon Mitchell tackled their own piece of true crime with their upcoming film Piglady.
The film is loosely inspired by the Susan Monica Murders, which took place in the mid-2010s. Allegedly, Susan Monica murdered two men who worked for her, dismembered them, and fed them to her pigs. For this production, a majority of the film was shot on the property adjacent to where the actual events took place.
