Megatron is pissed right now.
Stephen King is not one to hold back on Twitter. The famous horror author proved this once again recently by candidly sharing the one movie he’s ever walked out of before it was finished. And it was not one based on his own work.
The topic came up recently when author Linwood Barclay Tweeted about how much he didn’t enjoy Jurassic World Dominion. In fact, Barclay disliked the film so much he shared that he actually left the cinema before the credits had a chance to roll.
Enter Stephen King, who was quick to share an unsolicited anecdote about the one time he too left a film before it was through. But which movie was it? Transformers. He was also curious to know which movies other people in the comments had left preemptively. Check out the Tweet right here:
I have walked out of only one movie as an adult: TRANSFORMERS. Would like to know what other movies people have walked out on.

When curious fans enquired which Transformers film Stephen King was referring to, he had no problem clarifying.
Fair enough. I was curious if it was maybe an adaptation of his own work, but a Michael Bay Transformers film makes sense too. Not a whole ton of nuance on display in that franchise. King’s disapproval aside, we’re still expecting a gigantic new sequel, Rise of the Beasts to arrive June 9th 2023.
Lastly, what do you think? Is Transformers as bad as King thinks it is? And have you ever walked out of the cinema before a movie was finished? Let us know over on Twitter via @DreadCentral. We are always around to chat about all things, Stephen King!
