Fans are patiently waiting for the new Exorcist film titled The Exorcist: Believer. The original film, being deemed “The scariest movie of all time” has a lot of hype and expectations surrounding it, especially since it is a direct sequel to that film and ignoring all the sequels. It was revealed today that the film is officially rated R for Some Violent Content, Disturbing Images, Language, and Sexual References. It would be one of the only horror films ever nominated for best picture. It would end up taking home 2 Academy awards for Best Writing and Best Sound. It would then end up having several sequels, 2 prequels, and a tv series on Fox.

The new Exorcist trilogy is being directed by David Gordon Green and is being released by Blumhouse, Universal, and Morgan Creek. The film is set to bring back Ellen Bursytn (The Exorcist, Interstellar) as Chris MacNeil. It will also star Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), Jennifer Nettles (Singer/Songwriter), Olivia Marcum (Matilda the Musical, and Lidya Jewett (Nightbooks, Feel the Beat).
