Several celebrities had their 2022 Met Gala red carpet moment in black, and the choice was fitting, as there’s something undeniably regal about the color. The theme, “Gilded Glamour,” challenged stars to show up in their best ensembles inspired by the Gilded Age, and everyone certainly gave it their own spin.
Lizzo looked majestic in a Thom Browne corseted little black dress, enhanced with a voluminous cape coat with gilded leaf details running throughout. Ariana DeBose was on the same page with her Moschino ensemble, which featured golden details that were hard to miss. Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner also embraced a silhouette reminiscent of the Victorian era, clad in a voluminous Prada skirt with distressed fabric details visible all along the front and back and a sheer black top with an embellished fishnet layered over it. On the other hand, Lori Harvey graced the red carpet in a long mermaid dress with a crisscross neck and prominent front cutout. And Nicki Minaj opted for a belted leather ensemble involving feathers and a padded headband cap.
