Critically acclaimed horror novelist Mark Allen’s latest novel, ALPHA MALE, launched on April 15, 2025, and immediately began making waves. It hit the Amazon bestseller chart for New Releases U.S. Horror on Day One and currently still sits there.
ALPHA MALE is the second installment of Allen’s werewolf trilogy. He describes the story: “The heroes, Caleb and Marla, once again skirt death and danger at every turn as they race to bring order to a chaotic werewolf world. Caleb must ascend to the position he never wanted but feels morally compelled to claim: Alpha Male of the Global Pack.”
Early reviews are glowing:
“Allen’s tautly written follow-up satisfyingly continues the series… a story all its own… culminates in an ending that’s both a solid wrap-up and a subtle tease for a third series entry.” – Kirkus Reviews
“Gripping, brutal, yet surprisingly tender… ferocious (and) fast-paced…Allen’s prose is taut and cinematic… a must – read.” – Prairies Book Review
Allen is also the author of NOCTURNAL, BLOOD RED MOON, and JUST BEFORE DAWN. Feature film screenwriting credits include RESTITUTION (2024), EARLY GRAVE (2013), and DELIRIUM (2007).
Before becoming a writer, Allen made a career in the United States Navy as an Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman and Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Warfare Specialist from 1980-2001. He lives quietly in a small town on the shores of the Puget Sound in northwest Washington state. He writes every day.
