Liam and Noel Gallagher have hinted at a possible Oasis reunion taking place in 2025.
Over the weekend, UK media buzzed with various reports that the brothers would reunite next summer for a series of concerts. One report from the Times of London has Oasis playing multiple shows in Heaton Park in Manchester and Wembley Stadium in London, as well as headlining Glastonbury.
Although the Gallaghers haven’t directly confirmed these reports, both brothers took to social media on Sunday to tease an announcement set for Tuesday, August 27th, at 8:00 a.m. GMT. Further adding fuel to the fire, Oasis’ official social media channels are promoting the same upcoming announcement.
Oasis last performed together in 2009, when Noel dramatically quit the band just before their set at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Following the split, Liam formed Beady Eye with fellow Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Chris Sharrock, before eventually launching a solo career. Meanwhile, Noel went on to create Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Since their breakup, the Gallagher brothers have publicly traded barbs in the press and repeatedly dismissed the possibility of an Oasis reunion. However, over the past year, Liam has appeared to extend an olive branch to Noel, even reserving a seat for him at each show during his recent solo tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ Definitely Maybe.
Meanwhile in a recent interview, Noel was complimentary of Liam’s vocal abilities, saying: “When I would sing a song it would sound good, when he would sing it, it would sound great.”
