It was more complicated than it looked to pretend to be another persona, especially when someone else was watching you.

Elizabeth planned a romantic date with Nathan, but their plans were derailed on When Calls the Heart Season 12 Episode 7, and they went on a surprise undercover mission at the Davises’ lavish party,

The party featured lots of romance, mystery, and intrigue, and they showed how they worked spontaneously among the wealthy and if they concocted a believable story.

Back in Hope Valley, Allie and Oliver worked diligently to find a solution to the cattle problem and convince the governor to support them. Additionally, Lucas and Edie spent time together, but their intentions didn’t match.

Rosemary began a local production of The Importance of Being Earnest, but having Ava nearby and involved rattled her.

Finally, Fiona waited for news of the salon’s offer and what she should do about her future. I suspect this may have been the last we’ve seen of her for a while.

Nathan and Elizabeth’s Romantic Plans Changed As They Went Undercover

Watching Nathan and Elizabeth undercover as Danny and Diane DeMarco will be fun and entertaining for fans.

(Jeff Weddell/ Hallmark Media)

Elizabeth has never been involved with his cases, so she had to play along quickly, especially when being introduced as his wife. That expression was priceless.

Trudy Davis was fun. She loved dressing Elizabeth up and Danny and Diane’s love story.

Again, this part was challenging since Nathan and Elizabeth told different stories and had to get them to mesh.

Elizabeth’s version of meeting Nathan at a bachelor auction was hilarious but didn’t match his story of meeting a sweet girl in high school. These things must be rehearsed, but there was no time to prepare.

This episode had so many Timeless elements, from making sure their stories matched while undercover to singing “You Made Me Love You” on Timeless Season 2 Episode 3.

(Jeff Weddell/ Hallmark Media)

Nathan and Elizabeth’s duet was a real treat, and I love how Nathan incorporated part of their actual love story when he spoke about them.

Nathan: There are so many moments. The moment she said yes was a moment, but there was a moment before that when she was kind to someone I cared a great deal about, and that was the moment I started counting.

Nathan Learned Some Unexpected Intel at The Bash

Apparently, the rare gold coin may be connected to Edie’s dead uncle. That was an unexpected connection.

Toddy Davis showed Nathan a gorgeous 24-carat watch. In the 1920s, it would have been rare for someone to have several of them.

(Jeff Weddell/ Hallmark Media)

There isn’t confirmation it’s Edie’s uncle, but he lived near Benson Hills, and he died a year ago.

If he’s not managing the gold, then someone else is. I was rooting for Edie to be a good match for Lucas. I like them, so hopefully, someone else works for them, too.

Lucas Tried To Consider the Children’s Findings Into His New Proposal

Again, When Calls the Heart used Lucas’s character well. Even though Edwin remained disgruntled, Lucas agreed to see Allie and Oliver.

Lucas: It’s all right, Edwin. I happen to like kids. Send them in.

Lucas seemed impressed that Allie and Oliver found a way for everyone to coexist: having the cattle cross a different wildlife corridor to the summer pasture.

He once again proved he valued people’s opinions by taking time off to find Edie and discuss it with her.

While Lucas and Edie’s connection seemed strong, she ran off as soon as they briefly touched hands. Initially, I thought she was avoiding a romantic relationship, but Lucas gathered that she was avoiding the topic of shared land.

Edie showed up later that night to play cards but was horrible at keeping her hand a secret. Lucas could read her like a book.

He also suspected she was unhappy with the new plan, and his suspicion was confirmed when she asked him to drop it.

This became more complicated because she hinted she still wanted to hang out with him, and they were on opposite sides of the issue.

Rosemary’s New Play Production Brought Out Her Insecurities

All my predictions about Rosemary’s play production were off. She wanted a professional production of The Importance of Being Earnest, not an amateur one.

I felt for the men who tried out. They all wanted to impress her, especially Mike, but none were dazzling or rebellious enough.

Maybe it was just me, but I initially thought Elizabeth suggested Lucas or Henry as the man who pushed boundaries with an eye twinkle.

I never suspected Bill, though Rosemary was skilled at buttering him up. Even Nathan tried not to laugh as she detailed his sensitive charm and Bill’s accent.

Unfortunately, that’s where the fun ended. Rosemary wore too many hats that she couldn’t direct the play correctly. She became upset when Ava stepped in, though the rest of the cast seemed relieved.

(Jeff Weddell/ Hallmark Media)

It’s difficult to understand if Rosemary dislikes Ava only because she took over her show or if she’s overtaking her life now. While Rosemary tends to be dramatic, this was over the top for her.

We don’t know much about Ava, except she owes the saloon a massive bill and likes to entertain the customers by singing.

Fiona Says Goodbye To Hope Valley

Having Fiona visit Hope Valley on When Calls the Heart Season 12 has been such a treat. Three episodes is a record for a guest-starring role, but I had hoped she would stay longer.

She fits among the canvas so well by encouraging her friends to follow their dreams. She helped Rosemary with her radio show and urged Elizabeth to send a training manual to a publisher.

Fiona could help others in Hope Valley. I respect her desire to assist other women, but she also lights up around her friends and helps others here.

(Jeff Weddell/ Hallmark Media)

Not every woman has to get married, so hopefully, Fiona will follow her dreams, and we’ll see that. I hate we barely saw her interact with Faith before Fiona left. These long-time female friendships are meaningful.

Over to you, Hearties. Did you enjoy Nathan and Elizabeth undercover? Were you surprised Edie’s uncle may be involved with the gold?

Should Fiona appear again?

We would love to hear your thoughts, so please share them with us below.
