TriVersity Talk! is a weekly web series with featured guests discussing their lives, activism and pressing issues in the LGBTQ Community. With TriVersity Talk!, the goal is to laugh and learn.

Savannah Lauren is a national and statewide activist and women of transgender experience with over 20 years in direct service provision to the TGNC communities.
Ms. Lauren completed her education in risk counseling at Stony Brook University in 2009 and was co-chair of the targeted communities workgroup for the NYS Department of Health’s Prevention Planning body where she advocated for change in data collection to capture transgender and GNC identities in the statewide reporting system in addition she was instrumental in getting the New York State public insurance system to recognize gender affirming care is medically necessary and in 2016, the state Medicaid system, overturned its policy which considered gender affirming care cosmetic because of that fight trans and gender non-conforming individuals across the state who rely on public health insurance for their healthcare needs, are now able to get gender, affirming care and coverage. Gaycity news recognized her efforts at the 2022 gay impact award gala where she was honored among many other numerous recognition’s she holds from state, local and national lawmakers.
Currently as a clinical case manager with community healthcare network Savannah links the community to culturally competent gender affirming care and surgeons who have the same mission as she has held fast to which is to treat individuals in a holistic and wholesome manner.
