Cardi B proved her status as a glamorous siren mom when she shared photos from daughter Kulture’s 4th birthday bash that took place on Saturday, July 16. The fantasy-themed party was a tall order for Cardi’s stylist, Kollin Carter, who tapped Angel Brinks to create custom matching looks for the event. Brinks came up with fishtail mermaid skirts covered in paillette sequins with a pink sheen. While Kulture’s skirt fanned out with a satin hem to evoke fins, Cardi’s version came replete with a fuchsia interior; a long, floor-sweeping train; and a thigh-high slit. She finished her look with coordinating slide sandals, which were eventually exchanged for iridescent platforms.
Cardi and Kulture wore strips of fishnet fabric decorated with hand-painted pearls and lavender seashell bras at the chest. While Kulture went with simple diamond studs, Cardi chose multicolor Swarovski gemstone hoops to play up her pastel eyeshadow.
Their outfits were a far cry from dad Offset‘s all-black Balenciaga athleisure and 10-month-old Wave‘s monochromatic white ensemble with orange sneakers, but it appears Cardi and Kulture had every intention of standing out.
Recently, the “Up” rapper has been on a sequin-catsuit kick. She wore an embellished magenta version — also created by Brinks — for Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park, London, and a fringed design from Matthew Reisman for her Norway tour stop.
In her “Hot Sh*t” music video, Cardi also wears a bodysuit with nipple pasties, a white maxi dress, and a one-of-a-kind necklace fashioned by Omar the Jeweler.
