Another year, another killer doll. But this one is infused with James Wan’s genius. Will the movie walk on its own, or is it a full diaper? We will find out soon enough.

True Haunting (January 6)
We aren’t sure if this is just the working title of the movie, or the official one. But we do know it stars The Boys’ Erin Moriarty alongside Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna in Stranger Things).
logline: The terrifying story of the first televised exorcism on NBC in 1971. The NBC news segment was a success, the exorcism was not. Instead, it made things worse for the Becker family who lived there. Much worse.
Snow Falls (January 17)
Is this like Frozen (2010) meets Cabin Fever?
logline: This terrifying wintertime horror tale will chill you to the bone. As med student Eden joins four friends at a remote cabin to celebrate New Year’s, party time quickly turns serious when a brutal winter storm isolates the kids and knocks out the power. After making frozen cocktails with the snow, Eden and her friends start acting strangely. Convinced that the flakes have infected them with an evil virus, they struggle to stay awake to avoid freezing to death. Who will survive this icy ordeal?
Fear (January 20)
No, it’s not a remake of the Mark Wahlberg thriller. Although that one is coming in the form of a series. No, this one is a horror movie based on a pandemic. Not much is known about it so keep checking back.
logline: A much-needed getaway and a celebration weekend turn into a nightmare due to the contagious airborne threat.
Knock at the Cabin (February 3)
We couldn’t have a year without a Shyamalan film and this year we’re getting two. First up is this home invasion horror.
logline: While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.
Scream 6 (March 10)
That didn’t take long! Let’s hope the brevity in production doesn’t transfer to the screen or we might have another Halloween Ends on our hands.
The Pope’s Exorcist (April 7)
Russell Crowe surprised us with his 2020 psychotic road rage thriller Unhinged. Hopefully he can recapture lightning in a bottle with this supernatural offering from Overlord director Julius Avery.
logline: Portrayal of a real-life figure Father Gabriele Amorth, a priest who acted as chief exorcist of the Vatican and who performed more than 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime. (He passed away in 2016 at the age of 91.) Amorth wrote two memoirs — An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories — and detailed his experiences battling Satan and demons that had clutched people in their evil.
Evil Dead Rise (April 21)
Jury’s still out on whether Ash will make a cameo. That would be nice, but we really didn’t need him in the remake (although that also would have been nice). No, this one has a whole new protagonist and we are all waiting to see if they can handle the Deadites in the big city.
logline: A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
