One of The Real Ghostbuster’s biggest and baddest enemies came from noneother than the spirit of Halloween himself. That’s right, Y’all. Samhain has all of our collective horror hearts for looking so damn cool. If you don’t recall, Samhain had a giant pumpkin head and wore a purple cloak. His job every year was to take hold of all the ghosties out in the world and become one with them all in the spirit of Halloween.
The first trailer for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition, introduces us to an all new Nintendo Switch version of the game as well as physical release that we can get our hands on later in the year. For the moment, there is no Samhain in the game, but the DLC that is lined up for the next couple of months is sure to see the return of the Halloween Ghost with the most. All that to say that Samahain is coming to Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed soon.
Of course, the trailer for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed gave us our first look at Samhain. Or, at least it gave us a look at Samhain’s claw, slamming down on Ecto-1 and scratching the hood.
The synopsis for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed goes like this:
In Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore open the Firehouse to you and the next generation of Ghostbusters. This asymmetrical game of hide and seek is a 4v1 setup where players will either play as part of a team of new Ghostbusters or a Ghost. This title not only allows players to enjoy the game solo or with up to four friends, but also features an online and offline single-player mode available in the form of AI-assisted play. Most importantly, the more you play, the more the story will unfold (with cutscenes). Those already playing will be excited to hear that this story will be expanded in the Ecto Edition coming later this year. Whether haunting or hunting, the game is easy to learn and fun to master!

Most importantly, I’m excited to play the game with my daughter, who games exclusively on the Switch.”
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Ecto Edition is coming soon and will undoubtedly introduce us to Samhain and his minions.
