Alan Ritchson has turned an underwhelming box office performer into a streaming juggernaut. His 2024 World War II action movie has climbed to the top of Netflix’s U.S. movie charts, proving that audiences often find their favorites long after theaters have emptied.
Alan Ritchson’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare tops Netflix’s streaming charts
FlixPatrol data from September 21, 2026, confirms that The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare now holds the No. 1 position on Netflix’s Top 10 in the United States. The Guy Ritchie-directed feature pushed past competitors including Best of the Best, The Whisper Man, and The Seemingly Perfect Family to claim the top spot.
The rise follows a steady climb. The film previously sat at No. 3 before overtaking bigger-budget titles. Subscribers keep discovering it, and that word-of-mouth momentum has transformed a theatrical disappointment into a streaming success story.
Alan Ritchson plays Anders Lassen, a Danish commando who eliminates enemies with a bow and arrow. The weapon gives Lassen a distinctive edge that echoes Hawkeye’s signature style, but he never relies on archery alone.
He seamlessly shifts to axes, knives, and guns once combat moves in close. The real Lassen reportedly possessed exceptional archery skills as well, which adds authenticity to the film’s most memorable kills.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare follows a group of unconventional operatives who infiltrate enemy territory to cripple Nazi operations. Henry Cavill leads the ensemble as Gus March-Phillipps, with Eiza González, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin joining Alan Ritchson on screen. The mission draws inspiration from the real Special Operations Executive, though Ritchie prioritizes spectacle over strict historical accuracy.
Fans consistently highlight the cast chemistry, explosive combat sequences, and sharp comedic timing as reasons the film works. Some critics dismiss its exaggerated tone, yet that same over-the-top energy keeps streaming audiences engaged.
With Alan Ritchson continuing to build momentum, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has found the audience just on a different screen.
