Richard Brake has built a career out of being the most alarming person in the room, from Rob Zombie’s 31 to Barbarian. He is one of five actors joining Alexandre Aja’s Crawl sequel, which has been shooting since late August.
The Hollywood Reporter reported the additions Friday. Sarah Niles, Ray Panthaki, Charley Palmer Rothwell and Flula Borg join Brake opposite leads Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd. Roles have not been announced.

Brake Has More Horror Credits Than Most Leading Men
Rob Zombie alone has cast him four times: the coroner in Halloween II, Doom-Head in 31, Winslow Foxworth Coltrane in 3 from Hell, and Dr. Wolfgang in The Munsters. Elsewhere he has been the Chemist in Mandy, Frank in Barbarian and Sheriff Rotter in The Strangers: Chapter 1. Outside horror he played Joe Chill in Batman Begins and the Night King across the fourth and fifth seasons of Game of Thrones.
The Other Four Come From Everywhere But Here
Niles played Dr. Sharon Fieldstone on Ted Lasso and appeared in F1. Panthaki was one of the soldiers in 28 Days Later and has since done Gangs of London and Boiling Point. Rothwell was in Dunkirk, Legend and Femme. Borg played Javelin in The Suicide Squad.

Aja Is Back in the Water
Aja directs from a script he co-wrote with Jason Harry Pagan, Andrew Deutschman and Gregory Levasseur. Sam Raimi produces with Craig Flores and Aja, as he did on the 2019 original, and Levasseur, Kevan Van Thompson and Zainab Azizi are executive producing.
Paramount opens the sequel on July 16, 2027, which leaves Aja nine months to get everybody out of the water.
