August 1941. The Border Service Dog School is on the front line. Together with the military, civilians also come under attack: the doctor Kira (Maria Andreeva) and her little daughter Liza. The commander of the border school Shevtsov (Nikolai Machulsky) realizes that the forces are unequal and tries to send Kira, with whom he is secretly in love, and her daughter Lisa to the rear. Party worker Polyakov (Aleksey Barabash), Liza’s father, comes to the border school for them. But all plans are thwarted by the rapid advance of the Nazis. Now the detachment is forced to leave with battles. Shevtsov saves Kira, Liza and Polyakov, but the border school is forced to take an unequal battle in order to give time for the evacuation of the nearby city. Young and inexperienced border guards along with their dogs will stand in the way of the German tanks. Rifles and fangs against armor and machine guns.
