Beavis and Butt-Head are what the earth needed to save us all. So, like… uhhh, it’s great to have them back again. Recently, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe saw a very welcome return to the two 90s heroes and all-around dumbasses. The series was met with critical success as well as fans in general openly loving the series. Prepare for a lot more of the dudes and their misadventures in the all-new series.
The Beavis and Butt-Head series first aired in 1993 and has since come back in different forms and formats over the years. Most recently, Beavis and Butt-Head do America and the return of their classic series were added to Paramount+. Perhaps best of all, the classic series now includes the music videos with commentary by Beavis and Butt-Head. These videos were sadly missing from reruns as well as the DVDs of Beavis and Butthead. In fact, there was nowhere that you could find the classic series with old music videos intact. So, that alone is reason for celebration.
The new series is supposed to have a lot more of a narrative in place as opposed to the classic series which was really short and had no actual narrative. While those episodes were amazing, it will be great to have a King of the Hill format with Beavis and Butt-Head in place of Hank and the gang.
Beavis and Butt-Head originally arrived on the airwaves as a short animated cartoon as part of MTV’s Liquid Television. Their very first adventure was the classic Frog Baseball. Liquid Television lead adult animation at the time and included other fantastic animated shorts that included The Maxx, Aeon Fluxx, The Head, Dr. Katz, and more.
Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head returns to Paramount+ beginning August 4.
