The #1 documentary on Hulu is about one of the biggest megachurch scandals of our lifetimes. Even people who thought they knew all the details are shocked by the scope of the crimes. The Secrets Of Hillsong has cracked the charts as it illuminates what happened inside this seedy church.
Synopsis
“The Secrets of Hillsong features the first interviews with former pastors Carl and Laura Lentz since their public ouster from the church, which for years counted musicians, actors, athletes, and other celebrities among its flock. The Secrets of Hillsong also features poignant conversations with many of the congregants navigating the still-unfolding global reckoning as the church faces a rash of fresh revelations. With fresh reporting and analysis from journalists, historians, and policymakers, The Secrets of Hillsong goes beyond the sensational headlines and behind the velvet rope to examine the church’s long pattern of covering up misconduct to protect itself.”

I just finished the last ep of #SecretsofHillsong and I’m struck by the way Hillsong, like other abusive #ChurchToo situations, involved a chain of predatory men, each one discipling the next one

It’s good but in a sad really pathetic way.
Everyone here is lost, [unbelievably naive], helpless, and vulnerable — the congregation and the people running it.
Add to this hate and conservatism.#SecretsOfHillsong #Hillsong

Not Brian Houston throwing Carl Lentz completely under the bus when he and his family had more than a couple skeletons in the closet #secretsofhillsong

One day we need to talk about how “serving at church” is a scam. It’s an unpaid internship. #SecretsOfHillsong

I take back what I said about #SecretsOfHillsong. This goes into a lot more than the other documentary. I’m actually impressed now.

Shoutout to the black women in the doc for holding Carl Lentz accountable for this garbage he’s spewing on race because…….whew #SecretsofHillsong

For everyone shocked at the “Secrets of Hillsong” doc, I bet there is a “Secrets of ________” church right in your own circles. I can think of a few.

If you grew up in the church, highly recommend the “Secrets of Hillsong” documentary on Hulu. My god, what a saga.

The Secrets of Hillsong is so devastating. Mega churches are just big corporations with “Jesus” as their main commodity. You can’t understand this phenomenon of mega-churches without taking into account the spirit of capitalism that animates it.

Watching the new episodes of The Secrets of Hillsong & I am sickened. Frank Houston was a serial child predator & Brian Houston is a despicable human who helped cover up his father’s crimes.
The predators ain’t at drag shows, y’all. They’re in the pulpit.
