Xin is a war orphan in a poor village in the kingdom of Qin. On thing first: there’s a notable name I’m surprised isn’t on the bestseller list this week: Freida McFadden, who has been the reigning monarch of the thriller genre for quite a while. She has a movie adaptation coming out next month and had a new book come out in October, so there was plenty of opportunity. I’m sure we’ll see her again here soon.
