I love Letterboxd. I enjoy logging and rating films almost as much as I enjoy watching them. The app provides a sense of community and a place for cinephiles to connect over their shared love of film. It’s the social network we didn’t even know we needed. But since diving down the Letterboxd rabbit hole, I couldn’t imagine life without it.

But it’s more than just about logging your recent watches. The platform keeps stats on who is watching what and shares your stats with you at the end of the year. Letterboxd also interprets trends and shares its findings. Recently, they released an infographic detailing the most obsessively rewatched Guillermo del Toro pictures.

These are the most obsessively rewatched films by the master of horror.

I was actually surprised by some of the rankings. I fully expected Pan’s Labyrinth to claim the top spot. However, the film comees in at #2, with Pacific Rim taking the #1 spot. The Shape of Water shows up at #3, Crimson Peak is #4, Hellboy is #5, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio sits at #6.

Each of those films has ample replay value. So, despite being ever so slightly surprised by the ranking order, I agree that each title represented is an absolute banger with infinite replay potential. Although, I must admit that Pinocchio gutted me to the point where I am in no hurry to rewatch it just yet. It’s such a beautiful, yet tragic, meditation on the fleeting nature of life.

All about Guillermo del Toro

Guillermo del Toro is an Academy Award-winning filmmaker, author, and artist born and raised in Mexico. The celebrated director has enjoyed tremendous success in both the live-action and animation formats with his signature surreal styl. Del Toro has historically released films in both English and Spanish. But, his Hollywood debut, Mimic, almost made him quit the industry. Thankfully, del Toro stuck with it and went on to create some of the most influential modern horror films. His work has given him a reputation as an auteur director and a filmmaker who can pack a multiplex without compromising his creative integrity.
