Kate Cassidy reflected on the final memories she shared with Liam Payne as she marked the two-year anniversary of his death.
The influencer, 27, shared a series of posts via Instagram on Friday, October 16, as she commemorated the loss of her late boyfriend.
Cassidy uploaded a throwback video of the pair playing around, where Payne could be seen lifting his girlfriend up in the air.
“Treasure every moment with the people you love,” the text over the footage read. “Forever grateful this was our last hour, our last video, our last moment together. Until the next life, I’ll see you again one day.”
Kate Cassidy paid tribute to her late boyfriend, Liam Payne, on the first anniversary of his death. “Today marks a full year without you here,” Cassidy, 26, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, October 16. “I will forever hate goodbyes. I miss you Liam.” Cassidy’s post included a throwback black-and-white snap of her and Payne snuggling […]
She then simply captioned the post, “2 years ❤️.” Meanwhile, a second video featuring Payne was captioned, “I love you forever & always.”
Posting via her Instagram Stories, Cassidy also shared several photos of the former One Direction boy band member, including selfies of the couple.
“2 years gone without you here but an eternity of memories,” she wrote via one post, adding, “My handsome boy I love you!!!”
Payne died in October 2024 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. He was 31 years old.
Prior to his death, Cassidy had been vacationing in Argentina with Payne. The influencer returned home to the United States a few days before his death. Months after the tragedy, Cassidy confessed she regretted leaving the country without Payne.
“Love is so optimistic, and you just hope that everything will work out at the end. Obviously, if I knew, if I could see into the future, I would never have left Argentina,” Cassidy said in an interview with The Sun in February 2025. “I just never thought this would have happened, that it would turn out the way it did. It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here.”
One Direction alum Liam Payne had been dating influencer Kate Cassidy for two years before he died at age 31 in October 2024. Payne and Cassidy were first linked in October 2022, and Cassidy posted the singer on her Instagram page just one month before Us Weekly confirmed news of his death on October 16. […]
In March 2025, Cassidy opened up about how much she had struggled with the loss of Payne, particularly as his death was so unexpected.
“I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense. I don’t even feel the need to correct myself,” she shared on U.K. morning show Lorraine. “That’s part of my healing journey. I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore. It’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense. It almost stings that little bit more because it’s more official. It’s very hard to accept.”
