Audiences may have been expecting a little bit more of an action movie vibe from this one line in the Casablanca trailer that is nowhere to be found in the actual movie. Less than a minute into the trailer, Humphrey Bogart’s character Rick Blaine levels his handgun at, presumably, the film’s villain Major Strasser during, presumably, the airport climax. “I was willing to shoot Captain Renault and I’m willing to shoot you. All right, Major, you asked for it!” Bogart says, and then fires the gun. In the actual scene, as Strasser calls the radio tower attempting to ground the plane, Rick Blaine yells at him to hang up the phone and then, when Strasser draws his gun, simply shoots Strasser where he stands. Definitely a much cooler way to kill a bad guy.
