You may not know this about me, but I take my outerwear very, very seriously. Outerwear is often on the more expensive side, so trust me when I say that no coat or jacket lands a permanent place in my closet unless it’s 100 percent worthy. Recently, while I was on an online hunt for a new perfect piece to add to my jacket collection, I stumbled across Old Navy’s Packable Half-Zip Water-Resistant Quilted Jacket ($29, originally $60). I honestly hadn’t shopped at Old Navy in a while, but just browsing the site showed me it had tons of cute stuff — everything from loungewear to festive pajamas. I ended up stocking up on a few fall and winter items to get me through the colder weather headed my way, but the quilted jacket is my current favorite.
This jacket initially caught my eye because it’s packable, and since I knew I would be traveling a lot over the holiday months, I was in need of items that were lightweight and wouldn’t weigh down my luggage. And when I say it’s packable, I mean it’s packable. The jacket has a front kangaroo pouch that you can fold the entire jacket into, which makes it super convenient for travel.
When I received it, I instantly knew I loved the jacket as soon as I took it out of the packaging, but I truly fell in love after I tried it on. It reminds me of a windbreaker, but so much better. Rather than just one thin layer, it’s actually quilted, so it offers extra warmth without added bulk. It also has tons of pockets for storing things when you’re on the go. Plus, it’s water-resistant. Honestly, what can’t this jacket do?
This has become my go-to jacket for everything from going on walks to running quick errands. My family love to take hikes when we’re all together over the holidays, so believe me when I say I’ve been taking this jacket with me everywhere. I’ve been wearing it constantly, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I love how lightweight it is all while managing to keep me super warm.
