Once considered a fashion don’t, Crocs have made their way to the likes of Fashion Week and runway shows. High-end designers such as Christopher Kane and Balenciaga have incorporated the shoe into ready-to-wear collections, and there’s been a significant resurgence since COVID-19 lockdowns. Though they’re a little controversial, people are gravitating toward Crocs for comfort and functionality, and even style.
The now-iconic shoe has made its way into the wardrobes of some of today’s biggest celebrities — Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, and Ariana Grande included. Most notably, musician Questlove made the Crocs red-carpet worthy, opting for a gold pair with a black suit at the 2021 Academy Awards. Meanwhile, “I Hate U” singer SZA has collaborated with the brand, proudly expressing her excitement on Instagram.
